It is permissible to read Islamic literature during menstruation in any language. The only thing that is prohibited during menstruation is the recitation (tilawat) of the Quran itself. Reading Quranic verses for a purpose or with an intention other than tilawat, such as for dua, dhikr, durud sharif, etc. is permissible.
