545: Hadrat Abdullah, our beloved Prophet’s (peace be upon him) father, is born.
570: Year of the Elephant. Abraha (governor of Yemen attacks Makkah). In August
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is born.
576: The Prophet (peace be upon him) visits Madina with his mother Sayyida Aminah bint Wahab. She passes away this year.
578: The Prophet’s (peace be upon him) grandfather Shaiba ibn Hashim, better known as Abdul Muttalib (497-578), passes away.
583: The Prophet travels on a trade journey to Syria accompanied by Abu Talib (497-578). Meets the monk Bahira.
586: Participation in the Battle of Fijar.
595: Marriage to Hadrat Sayyida Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (555 – 619, may Allah be pleased with her).
605: Mediates peace in the Quraish tribe regarding a dispute about the placement of Hajar-e-Aswad (the Black Stone).
610: First revelation (wahi) takes place.
613: Islam is first openly preached to the public since the revelation.
615: First group of Muslims emigrates to Ethiopia.
616: Second group of Muslims emigrates to Ethiopia.
617: Quraish initiates boycott of the Banu Hashim tribe.
619: Boycott ends. Year of Sorrow. Hadrat Sayyida Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) and Abu Talib pass away.
620: Journey to Taif. Miraj Sharif, the Prophet’s night journey to heaven, takes place.
622: Emigration, Hijrah, to Madina. Islamic calendar, the Hijri calendar, begins.
622: Ghazwah-e-Badr, the Battle of Badr, takes place. Banishment of the Bani Qainuqa tribe.
625: Ghazwah-e-Uhud, the Battle of Uhud, takes place. Banishment of the Banu Nadir tribe.
626: Campaign against Banu Mustaliq.
627: Ghazwah-e-Khandaq, the Battle of the Trench, takes place. Banishment of the Banu Quraiza tribe.
628: Treaty of Hudaybiyya. Conquest of Khaybar. Letters sent to several heads of state with invitation to convert to Islam.
629: First Hajj. Campaign against Mauta.
630: Conquest of Makkah. Battles of Hunayn, Autas and Taif.
632: Campaign against Tabuk.
632: The Last Sermon, Hujjat-ul-widah, during the Prophet’s only and final pilgrimage.
632: The Prophet (peace be upon him) passes away.
632: Hadrat Abu Bakr (573-634) elected as Caliph. Campaign against Syria under the leadership of Hadrat Usamah. Battles of Zu Qissa, Zu Abraq and Naqra. Campaign against Bani Tamim and
Musailama Kazzab.

634: Battle of Basra, Battle of Damascus, Battle of Ajnadin. Hadrat Umar (584-644) becomes the second rightly-guided Caliph.
635: Conquest of Damascus.
636: Battle of Yarmuk. Battle of Qadsiya. Conquest of Madain.
637: Conquest of Syria and Jerusalem.
638: Conquest of Jazirah.
641: Conquest of Alexandria.
642: Battle of Nehawand. Conquest of Egypt.
643: Conquest of Azerbaijan and Tabaristan.
644: Conquest of Farz, Sistan, Karman, Makran and Kharan.
644: Martyrdom of Hadrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Hadrat Usman (580-656, may Allah be pleased with him) is elected as the third rightly-guided Caliph.
During his rule, almost all of North Africa, the Caucasus and all of Iran are conquered.
656: Martyrdom of Hadrat Usman (may Allah be pleased with him). Hadrat Ali (599-661, may Allah be pleased with him) becomes the fourth rightly-guided Caliph. Battle of the
Camel.
657: Capital moved from Madina to Kufa in present-day Iraq. Battle of Siffin.
658: Battle of Nahrawan.
659: Hadrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) conquers Egypt.
660: Hadrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) regains control of Hijaz and Yemen.
661: Martyrdom of Hadrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Hadrat Hassan (625-669, may Allah be pleased with him) becomes Caliph. He abdicates.
Hadrat Muawiyah (602-680, may Allah be pleased with him) becomes Khalifah. End of Khilafah e Rashidah al-khilafah al-rashidah, the Rightly-Guided Caliphate.
662: Khawarij rebellion.
666: Attack on Sicily.
670: Foundation of the city of Qairowan in present-day Tunisia. Conquest of Kabul.
672: Island of Rhodes is conquered.
677: Conquest of Samarkand.
680: Siege of Constantinople, present-day Istanbul. Hadrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) passes away. Yazid (645-683) succeeds him.
Martyrdom of Hadrat Hussayn (626-680, may Allah be pleased with him) at Karbala.
683: Yazid’s son Muawiyah II (661-684) succeeds him.
684: Hadrat Abdullah bin Zubayr (624-692, may Allah be pleased with him) becomes Caliph in Makkah. Marwan (623-685)
becomes Caliph in Damascus.
685: Marwan dies and his son Abdul Malik (646-705) succeeds him.
686: Mukhtar ibn Abi Ubayd (622-687) becomes Caliph in Kufa.
687: Mukhtar is killed by the army of Hadrat Abdullah bin Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him).
691: Kufa is conquered by Abdul Malik’s army.
692: Martyrdom of Hadrat Abdullah bin Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him). Abdul Malik rules the entire Muslim empire.
