Say to my brothers when they see that I have departed,
\nand weep and mourn over me:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Do you believe that I am your deceased?
\nBy God, the deceased is not me!<\/p>\n

I am a soul and this is my body,
\nwhich was my dwelling and clothing for a brief time.<\/p>\n

I am a pearl surrounded by a shell,
\nfrom which I fled, desolate and abandoned.<\/p>\n

I am a bird, this is my cage.
\nIt was a prison, which I finally left.<\/p>\n

Thank God that He set me free
\nand prepared my home in the heavenly kingdom.<\/p>\n

Before this day I was dead among you,
\nthen I awakened to life and cast off the shroud.<\/p>\n

I have departed and left you;
\nI do not permit myself to take your home as my dwelling.<\/p>\n

Today I converse in all secrecy with an assembly,
\nI see the truth clearly and distinctly.<\/p>\n

Standing before the Tablet I can read and see
\nall that was, all that is and all that approaches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

My food and drink are one and the same;
\nthis is an allusion, you must understand!<\/p>\n

It is not a matter of delicious wine or honey,
\nnor water, but milk.<\/p>\n

Do not think that death is death \u2013 on the contrary,
\nit is life and the ultimate goal.<\/p>\n

Do not be afraid that death will occur,
\nfor it is nothing but a departure from here.<\/p>\n

If you free yourselves from the corporeal,
\nyou will see the truth with your own eyes.<\/p>\n

Prepare yourselves as well as you can without losing courage;
\nhe is no wise person who loses courage now.<\/p>\n

You must believe the best of the merciful Lord,
\nthen you will be rewarded for your efforts, and come to safety.<\/p>\n

As I see it, I am none other than you,
\nand my conviction is that you are me.<\/p>\n

The source of our breaths is the same,
\nthe same applies to the bodies: they are one, and encompass us all.<\/p>\n

Every goodness that takes place is a gift to us,
\nbut every evil is our own fault.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

So show me mercy and be merciful to yourselves,
\nalso be aware that you will follow after me.<\/p>\n
