WIM is pleased to announce that Minhaj Youth is organizing the Mawlid festival 2012 at Chateau Neuf, Majorstuen in Oslo. The Mawlid festival is a new concept by Minhaj Youth and builds upon a traditional celebration and commemoration of the Prophet’s (PBUH) arrival on Earth.
The festival will take place on Sunday, May 13, and will host world-renowned scholars. Among them are Shaykh Ninowy from the USA and Abdul Basit al-Azhari from the UK.
The featured nasheed artist for the occasion is none other than Mesut Kurtis, from Skopje, Macedonia. Kurtis is an artist of international caliber. Throughout his career, he has performed all over the world and brought Islam’s harmonious message into people’s hearts through song and music. In addition to solo tracks, he also records songs with world-famous artists such as Sami Yusuf and Maher Zain. As recently as last year, Kurtis performed in front of 12,000 people at Wembley Arena.
