World Islamic Mission uses a digital membership system that makes it easy to manage memberships. You can register yourself, spouse, children, and family members online, without having to visit the mosque. All are welcome to become members.
Important to remember
- It is better to be a member in one place than in none. When you are registered, you contribute to the congregation receiving government support, which in turn is used to strengthen the community, operate the mosque, provide education, and organize activities.
- The state distributes financial support to religious communities based on the number of members. If you are not registered, this support is lost, and no congregation benefits from it.
- If you are already a member elsewhere and wish to become a member of WIM, you must first unsubscribe from the other organization. Unsubscription form.

Why become a member of WIM?
World Islamic Mission Norway
- Has a beautiful and ornate mosque as a visible symbol of Islam’s presence in Norway.
- Produces and publishes Islamic literature in Norwegian to strengthen knowledge and understanding.
- Is a leading player in the publication of Islamic children’s books in Norwegian.
- Offers education for children both in the main mosque on Åkebergveien and in branches in Strømmen, Stovner, Holmlia and Jessheim.
- Operates one of Norway’s largest question-and-answer knowledge databases about Islam, available at www.wim.no
- Regularly arranges courses and lectures in Islam, fiqh, Arabic language and other topics – for children, youth and adults.
- Provides the opportunity for personal conversation and guidance with our multilingual imam, who is fluent in Norwegian, English, Urdu and Arabic.
- Follows mainstream Sunni-traditional Islam – Ahlussunnah wal jama’ah.
