Update on COVID-19 Restrictions
The City Council of Oslo lifts the local COVID-19 restrictions in Oslo from Wednesday 16.06.21 at 12:00. We have selected the restrictions that apply to mosques.
- Indoor events allow 50 people without fixed, designated seating and 200 people with fixed, designated seating.
- Outdoor events allow 200 people in public places without fixed, designated seating.
- Outdoor events allow 600 people in public places with fixed, designated seating, divided into three groups. This means that there can now be 600 people, divided into three groups, at venues such as Intility or Bislett.
- For private gatherings in public places, there is a limit of 20 people indoors and 30 people outdoors.
- The local requirement to maintain two meters distance is removed; now one meter applies.
- Local restrictions for sports, leisure activities, and youth clubs, both indoor and outdoor, are removed.
- The prohibition against gathering more than 10 people in private homes is lifted.
- Requirements for face masks in shops, gyms, restaurants, cafes, and similar venues are removed, but face masks must still be worn on public transport and in taxis. In addition, it is important to note that:
- Everyone must REGISTER with their name and phone number upon arrival for each prayer.
- We recommend wearing face masks (especially when it is difficult to maintain distance).
- Avoid handshakes and hugging.
- Gathering in groups after the event is not permitted.
- Everyone MUST bring their prayer mat and perform wudu at home.
